Active Inference Cycle Book for Self-Knowing

A reflective book project applying Active Inference as a framework for self-knowledge and personal development.

Lead: Anna Pereira

This project is archived. It is no longer active, and any participation prompts below describe how it previously operated.

The Active Inference Cycle Book for Self-Knowing develops a practical framework for personal growth and self-knowledge grounded in Active Inference. It uses the inference cycle — perceiving, modeling, acting, learning — as a scaffold for reflective practice and long-term personal development.

Overview

The book applies Active Inference concepts — prediction, action, free energy minimization, and belief updating — as a practical guide for self-understanding. The aim is to make the theoretical framework accessible as a living tool for personal development and population-level wellbeing. The project is led by Anna Pereira, a Fellow at the Institute.

Participate

Writers, educators, and practitioners interested in Active Inference as personal development framework are welcome.
