Humanity's Story of an Uncertain Self is an Ecosystem project developing a broad account of human self-knowledge as an inference problem. Drawing on Active Inference, it examines how humans construct and maintain stories about themselves as agents in an uncertain world.
The project produces an integrated account of human self-understanding from the perspective of Active Inference — combining philosophical analysis, cognitive science, and narrative theory to examine how agents model themselves and generate coherent self-narratives under uncertainty.
Philosophers, cognitive scientists, humanists, and narrative researchers are welcome.
