"Of Course I Can" Active Inference Courses for All

All right. Welcome, everyone. Happy Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2026. We're going to start off the Active Inference Stream 17.1 with a very large GitHub push to the new Repo Active Inference Institute courses. Here's where we're going. We are going to lectures, lab, practice quiz, homeworks, all these kinds of different learning experiences for Active Inference courses. We have a Keystone course, Active Inference. We have 101 for undergrads, 401 for the advanced student, elementary school, family time, high school, middle school, and domains. We're going all over the place with this stream today. We're going to look at all of the open source tooling that lets you publish this kind of work, as well as make LLM summaries and translations, and take a look at some of the content of these courses, play around with learning, take people's suggestions, ideas in the live chat for what other kinds of courses we want to make. So while the push is going, let's get right into it. So starting off with the, of course I can. Of course I can is a poster meme, famously. And here we're using it because yes, we can with these courses, meeting everyone where they are for their pragmatic and epistemic orientation, and exploring a little bit of how generative AI today and tomorrow can be used to bring education where, when, and why ever it needs to be. Finishing that GitHub push. And yes, welcome to everybody. Please write any comments or ideas, suggestions, questions in the live chat, and we'll make some courses for what people are interested in. So first off, what is this repo? It's a single open source starting place repo for currently 10 courses covering now 320 modules and 3400 plus contents. Some of them are pretty thin, a little bit placeholdery, but other courses are quite well developed as we will see. And this is intended as, and also the repo has all of the software needed to do all of the processing, all of the configuration, file validation, HTML websites, document export, LLM summaries, translations, speech to text, text to speech, validation, all these kinds of tools for even doing other kinds of course material. Heavily learning from my experiences this semester teaching introductory biology. And let's check that it's all on GitHub. There we go. Welcome to this open source curriculum infrastructure. And this is a first pass on course materials. Of course, educational accessibility, rigor and applicability is core to the mission of the Active Inference Institute. And so I hope that others who are excited about this topic, if you're on this channel watching along, this is you get involved email blanket at active inference dot institute with subject education, and we can go so many different directions. We can polish, curate and present some of these courses, run them interactively. You could run it locally where you're at. We can explore micro, miso, macro, credentialing, de-schooling, unschooling, translation, localization, embodiment, all those cool things. And what we're going to do today is walk through every layer of the repository, explore some of the existing courses, make a few new courses, and basically with credible, legible software, get very excited about active inference education today and tomorrow.
